  Thanks so much for your reply. I don't know if Joy remarried but I assume she did as I have searched death records with her 1st & middle names and the approx. bdate. I do know in the 1930 Census record it is listed erroneously as Jay Mack but shows female & head of household w/the brother James living in San Diego, CA.  It is listing a bdate of about 1908. It's entirely possible that she gave misinformation. What I do have is my grandparents marriage license from 1925 & my father's bcertificate from 1926. The license shows her occupation as a stenographer but the Census shows waitress.
  UC all of my relatives who could provide info are now deceased. I only started searching in 2002. My father suffers at age 80 now from dementia...But I know my grandfather Joseph William Wasson took my dad at about age 4 from my gr-mom Joy back to his Iowa roots & Joy was never heard from again. 
  I only have 3 pictures of her & then the trail goes cold. 
  The marriage license shows Carl Mack & Jessie J. LaMar as her parents (both b. in France) but the Census images shows parents both born in Norway.  I was hoping to find some sort of birth information as the marriage license shows Joy was born in Oregon but no town or county.
  This listing for Jessie L Mack could be correct & I will contact the information you provided.

  Looking for info on my paternal gr-mom Joy Evelyn Mack b.abt.1906 somewhere in Oregon. Her parents were Carl Mack & Jessie J.
