You can also order the file for these records. I was paying $35 a file. If
it was a "cash sale entry" there may not be enough in the file to make it
worth the money, but if it was a "homestead" there is probably a lot of
information as there was a bit of paperwork. Gives the details of the
structures, outbuildings etc and also family details such as date
naturalization papers were filed. It is an early "eye" into the area. Some
"cash sale entries" started out as homesteads, so there may be quite a file
on those as well.

Yes, nice when an image is available, but they are so slow about getting the
Oregon records scanned. I may be dead before they are available and I am
relatively young yet, only 71. But I don't have forever. I have, however,
enjoyed the many images from Missouri.
And there are also available documents from Virginia but I have lost track
of the web location. As many of you know, in early settlement days, Virginia
did encompass far more than the present state.
