You don't have administrative privileges for the account you are using when
you log onto your computer. To change this go to Control Panel/User
Accounts. Click on the account you use and select "Change my account type"
and on the next screen click "computer administrator." This should give you
access to back up your files. If this doesn't work, you will need to log on
with an account already coded "administrator" and that should be apparent on
the first "user accounts" screen.

Good luck!! Archivally it is better to back your files up to an external
drive that can be unplugged and turned off when not in use. No wear & tear
on the drive or risk of a power surge. I too struggle with doing this
regularly, but I keep struggling.....

At times I want to blow mine up!!!! the puter, that is.

Right now, with all this good reminder to back up our files......I tried to
back up. I tried to export. My screen says that I do not have permission
to do this and I have to see the administratior for permission.

I run XP and know there is a tweek at times to get something from the 'puter

to a CD.

Will someone please give me simple instructions to do ths? I have
previously backed up my files to a CD, but ------ cannot remember how that
was done.

THANK YOU.

Diane
