I can understand your hesitation, but -- when I finally made contact with
the one remaining member of one of the families, I made a lifelong friend
with my now 93 year old cousin.

At the same time, because I didn't take the time to look in the phone book,
one of our other cousins up and died on us.

I approach this with a bit of apprehension; considering the last time I have
any record of our two families being in contact was almost a hundred years
ago I don't know what kind of reaction to expect from a second cousin when
some total stranger calls out of the blue claiming to be family.
