BlankHi All,
while browsing Stephenie's site I followed the Making of America link and ran a query on LIGHTLE, among other things this turned up:
http://quod.lib.umich.edu/cgi/t/text/pageviewer-idx?c=moa;cc=moa;g=moagrp;xc=1;q1=Lightle;rgn=full%20text;idno=AFT6683.0001.001;didno=AFT6683.0001.001;view=image;seq=00000021
it's page 21 of Addt'l Estimate for Ft. Kearney (Nebraska), South Pass & Honey Lake wagon road...
the entry 12 up from the bottom is my GG Grandfather P(eter) LIGHTLE.
Can you explain what it is I'm seeing? Now I've got 64 questions - when, from where, the title names part of the route and a brief read also mentions Lander's Cutoff...
Thanks for your help! Going to skim read some more...
Ingrid
