I have a Canon LIDE 90 scanner that I take everywhere and wish I had bought sooner. It is the greatest for death certificates at the archives or pictures when I visit people. I never could get consistent with my digital camera but the scanner is great. I highly recommend the Canon LIDE models. Mine is lightweight and fits in the notebook computer case.

I want to thank Pat, and Les, and Bill, and Carla, and Ray, and Trish, and Judy for all the good
feedback about the problem of scanning on the road. I have learned from each of you.
For me the Quadrapod is out-of-reach for a probably one-time trip.
More research will be done on the small Canon scanners and, if I come up with the perfect
solution, I'll let you know when summer is over.
