My gen soc pres ran across a reference in the obit for her son-in-law's
grampa to Daddy-train which turned out to be a (special??) train from
Portland to Seaside/Cannon beach that took working fathers home for the
week-end.
The obit reference seemed to mean during one of the world wars, most likely
first but possibly second. The only reference we could find on line is in
that wonderful web site that has so much detailed history of Oregon whose
sponsor I forget at the moment, but it seemed to imply the trains were only
a 19th century feature. Does anyone have a personal perspective on them?
