Paulette; Jumping in to ask if your (fill in the surname here) line is
connected to somebody else's is never rude on this list; especially if you
do it so politely!
Dale;
Would this be the right time from for your unknown wedding?

will advise you of the possibility of obtaining copies and how if that looks
like a possible. I have run across several of llewelling/llellewyn (etc)
names in my search today, I guess I shoulda itemized them. Do you want the
image of the Carrols I ran across yesterday? It shouldn't take me more than
a few minutes to find them since they were on about the first page of
whatever part of the census they were in.
In Morrow Co Marriages I have;
John S Brown ma Maggie Lieuallen June, 20 1887
Joseph Lewallen (?) Dell C Montgomery Sept 3, 1889
Jesse A Lieuallen Melvina Owen July 1, 1892
Abraham Louelling Mary E. Rayburn August 13, 1893
Charles Hasting Edith Luelling May 12, 1894
John Howell Nellie Merrill August 25, 1894
William J. Carrolll Rosa Wade June 8, 1896
John Padberg Della Lieuallen March 16, 1897
Mathais Halverson Mary E. Lieuallen July 25, 1901
George G. Anderson Emma B. Howell May 10, 1903
F. H. Howell McDaniel June 26, 1910
Was doing real good, one on just about every other page till Mathias on page
20 and then only two more in the last 14 pages. So which ones are your Dale?
I'm pretty sure none of them are mine! And is that really four different
families?
If anyone else is interested in a look-up (27 Apr 1885 - 2 Dec 1910 and
knows the approximate date looking won't be too much trouble, if lots of
folks want "do you have any Miller" kinda looks-ups I probably should scan
them so I can word find them.

This has really gotten me to thinking about the Carrol(l) family that I
haven't really done much research on. Hettie Carroll married James
Ellison Howell back in either Indiana or Illinois (I can't remember).
They had two sons, Andrew Howell and Stanford Howell. Hettie died soon
after Stanford was born and James remarried a woman named Sarah (don't
know her last name). I don't know if they got married in Illinois or if
he met and married her in Arkansas. I doubt he would take two infant
sons to Arkansas by himself though. In Arkansas they were close to the
Marrs family and some of the Howell children married Marrs children.
They all went to Oregon after James died. Andrew and Stanford had gone
first. Sarah Howell took all of her remaining children to Oregon.
Evidently the Carrol(l) name was important to the family because Sarah
and James named one of their sons Carrol and he named one of his sons
Carrol. I had never thought to look for Carrols in Oregon, only in
Illinois or Indiana (I can't remember). But then when James and Sarah
Howell's daughter Sarah married John Llewelen and I found that his
father's name was Elison Llewelen and that they were from the same
Illinois or Indiana I started thinking these people must have either all
been part of the same religion or their ancestors had come to America
together and they were like a big clan that stayed together and moved
together. So, now I wonder if the Carrols were part of the group too.
Such a fascinating puzzle.
