This is Glen again, checked my database, Both my wife and I have Howell's in our families, her's I do not have anything on except names and have not done any research on them, mine except for 4 were all born in Oregon the other four were born in Iowa and Illinois and likewise I have not done a lot of research on them, I do know a lot of the people in my wife's family did come from Virginia, the Carolina's, Tennessee, Etc. and many currently live in Kansas, my wife also has relatives that lived in Howell Prairie and one still does, at least we believe she is still alive it has been a couple of years since we heard from or talked to her.

Dale; I always forget that most email gets scrunched; the Johnson is the
county of marriage, so now it is smorgasboard time depeding on whether the
1843 date matches or the the "about 1837"

what that says is Howell, James T.  married  Sarah S Rentrfo on 10 January
1843 in Johnson Co. Illinois. I didn't find Sarah Shadwell in the index with
a Howell, but talk about name coincidnces, this may not be your line, but I
bet it is connected to the earlier marriage  i posted;

RENTFROW, EARL     Married  SHADWELL, EFFIE     1909-Nov-11    Book 3   page
85            EFFINGHAM Co., IL

Huh, is she named for the county, or for an ancestor the county was named
for??

I will have to look that up at home.  I am confused by the Howell, James
T Johnson though.  What does that mean?  I know that my James middle
name was Ellison because I have seen it on several documents including
land records that I got from the BLM site.
