[or-roots] Name coincidences

Interesting, Stanford Howell had a daughter named Ida May but my Howell’s were mostly in North Eastern Oregon although they started out in Oregon City and Springwater both in Clackamas County.

All

In Relation to the Howells, I have been doing some research on mine since this thread, another name associated with the Howell's here in Oregon is "Hayden", I am find also most of my Howell's lived in Benton County and Lincoln County.

Some of my Howell names are

Austin, Susan (Wife of Austin) Walter, Bertha, Stephin (Stephen), Electra Belknap Howell, William, Nancy Ann, Silas, (Wife, Jerusha) Ida May, Mary A., and a Virgil.

I have yet to look at the Howell's in my Wife's family.

Glen Portland. Oregon

I noticed the similarity of the Marrs name when I read it too. But maybe I spelled Mary Jones' grandmother's name wrong in my previous email. The Find A Grave memorial shows her name as: Rosalia Morss Buoy (1840 - 1900) - it has two s's rather than 2 r's. But then names often get misspelled in various places, & sometimes even get changed deliberately. That surely keeps us guessing, & we need to be open minded when searching for our folks. ~Gerrie In a message dated 6/11/2009 10:27:26 A.M. The Howell thread involves the surname Marrs and the maiden name of Mary Jones' grandmother was Morrs? Probably just a coincidence, but given the spelling eccentricities (note my list of Llewellyn anagrams last night that may have all been one family) it is always possible there is a connection.
