Dessie Rowena HATLEY, daughter of William Carl HATLEY and Clementine Arzula
TAYLOR. She was born 18 Dec 1896 in Pullman, Whitman, Washington, USA, and
died in Pullman, Whitman, Washington, United States of America.

So I am browsing the 1910 Census and there is Dessie Christian in 2d ward of
the Dalles in Wasco County; seems like an odd enough name to be a match??

Not a chance; Ira and Dessie don't get married until 1915, or at least that
is how I read the date on their marriage license, it is stamped 1918.
