Gerrie;
I went looking for Mary and Parents in 1900 Census, since Creswell is close
to home I thought I might get lucky and figure something out by intuition.
Unfortunately James, Elizabeth and Mary age 17ish is not a combo that shows
up in the 1900 Census.
Do you know where they went from where Mary was born? John Smith might be a
little harder name to sort out of the crowd, but Mary Jones is not going to
be easy.
How much information does she have and what is she interested in; turns out
in 1870 John and Rosalie are living in my home town area; I can't tell
exactly where because most of the names are unfamiliar to me, but a near
neighbor is a Martin who might be the one Martin creek I grew up on was
named for, I can never remember who it was. There is an Ella boarding with J
A Vaughn a blacksmith in 1880, probably in town, but Elizabeth listed as
living with John and Rosalie in 1880. That confirms their location as their
next door neighbor makes them technically two doors down from where I grew
up. The fact that they may be the other side of the Hawley ranch means they
lived in Lathan which is practically in town and four or five miles from our
house is just a minor quibble.
There are three families of Buoy in Creswell in 1900, all appear to be other
than Rosalie and family, but could be remnants of children. I find a John W
of right age in Burns with wife and children, but he reports mother born in
MO rather than IL like Ros' but that is a minor quibble. Perhaps Rosalie was
second wife?
For some reason I lose track of all of them in 1900? Benjamin Buoy marries a

has quite a bit on Ella's sibs, each with spouse and marriage date, but
nothing on her children; Spouse: James Aus JONES (AFN: 2419-3LW Marriage:

I think whoever submitted this info defaulted their birth places to Creswell
whether they knew or not; I didn't look in 1860 to see where they were but
being on south side of CG in 1870 and 1880 makes me suspicious of the
blanket Creswell birth places.
I saved the 1870 and 1880 Census images if you want them.

Say Glen - Did you ever get to check into those Mary Jones marriages you
mentioned a while back? I've forgotten who it was, but someone on this list
found a couple of Mary Jones' marriages a while back. My sister-in-law
surely would like to find out her Mary Jones's husband's name. To refresh:
Mary Jones was daughter of James Austin Jones & Elizabeth Ella Buoy Jones.
Mary was born Apr 1883, perhaps in the Creswell or Portland areas.
Today I found photos of Eliz. Ella Buoy Jones' parents: John Buoy & Rosalia
Morss Buoy on the Find-A-Grave site. Each family discovery helps cheer up
Joanne while she goes through the ordeal of chemotherapy.
Respectfully, Gerrie in Idaho
