Kind of hard to explain, but about a half mile west of Howell Prairie Road NE, between Hazel Green Road and the Silverton-Salem Highway.  Just east of Hazel Green, the road takes a slight northeast angle, then angles back to about east-west. Wesley’s property is the wedge going south not quite to the Silverton Hwy. The east side is 80 Ave NE, the west is 75th Ave NE. The house is on the corner of Linnet St. NE and 75th Avenue. This from Google Earth.  Looks like I drove right past it last week, going from Mt. Angel to Salem.

Yes, Wiley Howell is a family name I think I found that James E. Howell had either a brother or cousin named Wiley Howell back in Tennessee.  Thanks.

Using Ancestry.com, I find James E. Howell married Sarah (Sally) Shadwell in 1835.  She died 1898.  I realize there are no sources cited and this is not my family.  But her last name seemed to be missing in the e-mails being circulated.  There are still Howells and Shibleys in the Springwater area, namely a Wiley Howell which seems to be a family name.  In fact the family farm is now for sale.
