thanks Dale.  Maybe my cousins would be interested, Daniel R is my second 
great uncle, so nephews are not allowed.  My cousin told me John W Christian 
who was born on the Oregon Trail to Eugene at Salmon Falls was not 
"qualified" to join that society.  This was back in the early 1900s he tried 
to apply, John is the son of Daniel R.  I do have relatives though that 
would qualify under the term "son or daughter" of.  Will pass it on.
