Lucy (I think) Bigelow is the correct person to contact. She will snail mail you the application for you to fill out. It will explain the documentation that you need. She was very nice to deal with when I did this a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the information. I have done this in Illinois. Each state is
different and requires at least primary evidence you are related like birth
and death certs. I have an email in to a Ms Bigelow, and waiting for a
reply. I doubt if can get one for only the 2nd great nephew of Daniel R
Christian, however know living great grandsons and a gg-daughter that are
still living and may be interested. There was a funny story in my family
about John Wesley, Daniel R's son, John applied to Skinner Cabin, of the
Native Sons of Oregon, but was declared ineligible because he was born in
Salmon Falls on the Oregon Trail out to Eugene in 1852...my guess is the
Skinner Cabin is now gone? They were picky, this would have been around
late 1800s he applied. Is the Skinner Cabin of the Native Sons still
around?
