I've had some success pulling names off the 1920 Federal census for young male children in known families and the running the names across MSN Live Search White Pages.  People search snags anyone with a publicly listed phone number or a listing in a service organization. (you can run but you can't hide very well - what happened to privacy ?) Of course they always have the option not to reply...
