You have that right Bill;
I was working on my youngest sister's in-laws and discovered her husband had
a first cousin who is my sister's 9th cousin and 9th once removed. That
actually kinda comes through some of the Pioneer folks in Idaho, though
Guy's folks are kinda Johnny come latelys since they didn't get to Idaho
until 1910. The Ponds were there a bit earlier, though I was thinking the
Irish were Pioneers and they were even later than the Matthews.
We have been kicking around the idea of doing the National Geographic DNA
test. It would be funny to find out we had color since as far as we have
been able to determine the ancestry is all lily white. My Sister is
interested in having her Grandkids tested to see if we can determine for
sure what tribe they are. If we were just made of money!!
back to Genealogy my pioneers were Melvins and I have found a little more
out about Grandpa's involvement in the Railroad. One of these days when I
get tired of trying to resurrect my crashed genealogy I will work some more
on that.
I was at sis's week before last and she gave me a copy of the original
letter she wrote of her tracking down Milan Morrel Melvin's grave site. It
was quite a saga, the letter is 20 pages.
