Hi Nancy, No I haven't to date even though Lydall does bear some phonetic resemblance to Lightle. Are your Lydalls of German/Bavarian/Swiss extraction having immigrated in the late 17's, very earliest 18's? My name underwent some changes at entry into the US and not uniformly across all family members (nothing as challenging as a puzzle with lots of pieces missing in the box). That spelling does pop up with mine on Soundex searches, I'll keep my eyes open.
Some of my easily traced Oregon ancestors included Montgomery/Holloway by blood and Johnson/Stone by marriage (and plenty more to be found).  I've even tripped over some Hansens that come off my Father's Mother's side. Ingrid
