Jack;
I don't think so, that is my problem though is all I have is the name; I plan to go to the courthouse to get the marriage docs that are available to see if I can learn anything there, but the marriage list on rootsweb gives me the date and her name and nothing else. I intend to check out Dodge here pretty quick as soon as I give up on my current diversion, but I don't think he will answer my question.
I did find one Martha Turpin married name in the census and thought maybe John married a widow but no luck there either. In 1886 he remarries, but in the 1880 census he lists himself as Married, unfortunately his wife is nowhere around that I can see. I guess I could browse the curry county census looking for her, but haven't tried yet. I got desperate enough on my current diversion to consider browsing Sonoma Co CA but decided I didn't need to know that bad.
Give the history of that bunch its entirely possible she is married to someone else by 1880.
Did you have any specific questions about Hamilton? I must say I would think a middle name like Camel bespeaks an interesting background.

Okay Les...now you've got me doing it. I read your posting and the name Martha L. Turpin struck a chord. Turpin...I thought I remembered Turpins in my son and daughter's line. So I pulled up FTM and discovered why the name was familiar: Turpin T. Thomas (m. Nancy Curl) was the father of Catherine Thomas who married Clarence L. Morris on December 27, 1857 at "Eightmile Creek", Oregon. He stuck in my memory because Turpin T. Thomas is a name with such great alliteration...and with the middle initial "T" I can't help but wonder if his middle name was "Tine"...
