I think "Kitty" was often used as a nickname for Catherine.  I have a couple of Catherines in my family that were known as "Kitty".

  Thank you for your responce. I was sure hoping that I would receive more interest. I too, have Virgil's books. I heard about the marriage of Sarah, but nobody would confirm the news. I guess it wasn't to be talked about. My mothers name was really Catherine Alice, I have no idea where "Kitty" came from.

    Hummm, the Huntley's in Coos County got me going too George- and I do have your grandparents in my database, but nothing substantial on them or anything other than pretty much what Virgil Huntley has in his book on the Huntley clan. 

    He does show George Douglas Huntley married twice, the first time to Letha Alice Saunders, born in Pendleton, OR 2 Feb 1876; died in Homedale, ID 21 Apr 1920 and then married Sarah Ellen Spray in Pendleton, OR 22 Aug 1921. He shows her born in 1876. He lists your mother as "Kitty Alice". 

    There are a few other facts listed, and it's possible that Vergil has more information on your family than what made it into his book, especially since he doesn't list anything about the next generation of women who married out of the Huntley line.

    If you don't have a copy of his book, I'm in Coos county to and would love to share it.
