Ah hah! Thanks Les!
Went away, got some ink, came back, mind clear(er).
Of course, this is the plat map that Les was directing us to, but the link
wouldn't work. If it had, I'd have probably recognized the map. It may have
been a "Chrome" issue, or maybe not <G>
The map in question is called the "master title plat"
And, indeed, found at BLM Oregon.
http://www.blm.gov/or/landrecords/survey/ySrvy1.php
This is what it has:
Township: 006-0S Range: 001-0W
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Master Title Plats, Use Plats and Historical Indices:
State Plat or Document Date Size kb File Name
Oregon view HISTORICAL INDEX 2004/08/27 76 060s010whwd.pdf
view MASTER TITLE PLAT 1969/04/03 1,259 060s010wm01.jpg
Survey Plats:
State Plat Type - Survey Number Date Approved Size kb File Name
Oregon view CADASTRAL SURVEY 2,581 t060s010w_001.jpg
view CADASTRAL SURVEY 1,429 t060s010w_002.jpg
view CADASTRAL SURVEY 774 t060s010w_003.jpg
I had to go to my files and find the copies to see what the file name was.
Oh, well.
So, looking at 007S, you see DC 308 again, (flowed from one twp to the
other) Next is 326, the Smith family.
I think I need a glass of wine. I'll regroup in the morning.
Pat

Pat;
Did you get it through the Marion County surveyors office, I would assume
that is where the information is housed;
http://www.co.marion.or.us/PW/Survey/govcorner.htm
from Bill Em;
http://www.blm.gov/or/pubroom/files/ORWA-BLM-MINING-PACKET.pdf
will get you a pdf on mining claims, but it is only useful to those wishing
to file a mineral claim.
There is a link at;
http://www.blm.gov/or/landrecords/landrecords.php
for mineral suveys, but I can't find anyway to bring up a specific one?? I
give up there doesn't appear to be any thing in that link any where near
Silverton.
Gotta go take a nap.

My current dilemma is that I can't find the source for the plat parameters
I'm using for this township. I know it was done in 1969, and presume there
are others for the other townships, but my Googling is not finding it.
For anyone who wants to help, it's "Marion County Public domain land and
Mineral Titles, 1969."
