If you stick the subject line of this email in google and then after you do
search pull down "more" at the top of the screen and click on books, then
under the query box in the resulting screen you will see another box with
"all books" showing; pull that down and click "full view only" and you
should have about 326 hits, the lions share of whic will indeed be;
"calendar of wills" for various places.
Maryland has a version that is at least 6 volumes, so far I've downloaded 5
and 6.
While these often only provide a very sketch amount of information, they do
usually provide two things; a ball park figure of the date of death of a
person with the name you are seeking, and a reference to allow you to go to
the original will if that is something you really want to do.
Of course it also provides you with another way to bury yourself in massive
quantities of information you will never be able to assimilate and then you
can be just like me.
