Darlene, she's on the 1900 census at the Oregon State Insane Asylum but the name is spelled Carlyle.  I'll send the copy in an e-mail to you directly.  This shows that she had children, do you have their names?

  This whole thread of messages has given me some hope that I'll learn what happened to my great-grandaunt -- Rosanna Hamlin Carlile.  She was committed to the Oregon State Penitentiary on 9/18/1899 having been convicted of arson.  The Oregon State Archives lists her case and "committed to OSIA 4/7/1900".  Have been unable to find anything about her after that date.  Still searching.
