I remember reading on the Oregon State Asylum website that there was
some religious group in the early 1900's that were frequently committed
to the insane asylum but I can't for the life of me remember which
religion it was.  Could have been Jehovah's witnesses or some other
later religion.  Sure wish I could remember.

Mormons were persecuted for their beliefs a few years earlier than that 
(1840's), but it did & could happen, I suppose --  less so in Southern 
Oregon, perhaps, where I have some familiarity with such.  But I am not 
going to discuss religion on this forum -- history of religion, perhaps,

but with CS, I have a hard time keeping them separate.
