That was a very quick return on the DC you were looking for. I didn't know
if you were doing the research yourself or not, so threw in the tidbit re:
their filing system. I have spent the last two years or so copying Jackson
Co. death certs for the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society near Medford.
Copied 1937 through 1956 before I had health problems that required me to
stop - just three years short of finishing. I received a lot of insight into
their filing system. The people there are so very helpful and friendly and
will drop everything to help someone. They are to be commended. .
Thank you for the info on the Multnomah Park Cemetery. I will make another
try at finding gr grandpas death cert. We have many relatives buried there
and as a child the family spent every Memorial Day taking loads of flowers
to the different gravesites, including gre grandpas (we knew where he was
buried, just not when). Many memories.
Thank you for your suggestions

I emailed what Sue gave me to the Archives Research email address.
Received it back within an hour with a $5.00 invoice! Not bad! I'm sure the
process is different if you want it certified.
In a separate email I sent the url for Metro. There's a search box at the
top right. Type in Pioneer Cemeteries or Multnomah Park and you'll get a new
search page. When you search by last name only, you'll receive applicable
info from all cemeteries, not just one.
I just thought of this. While I was visiting the cemetery Sunday, a
gentleman introduced himself as Eric Cordingley. He lives near the cemetery and
volunteers his time keeping records updated, looking for gravesites, etc. He
may be able to help with cemetery info as well.

Just a wee tip - the death certificates are filed by DATE, not by
certificate #. However, it is helpful if you are requesting a copy to give both
date and cert. #.

By using the death certificate number you can get a copy from the Oregon
State Archives.

Hello all.
I have a gr.gr.gr. grandmother who is buried at Multnomah Park Pioneer
Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Mary is buried in a plot next to her daughter,
Isabelle Jane Boyd. My father and I visited the grave this past Sunday.
Here's the basic information on Mary:
Mary A (Ann) Barnett (maiden name Carr)
Born March 4, 1831
Died July 8, 1908 in Portland
I am having difficulty finding her death certificate. I searched online
indexes at the following to no avail: Oregon Archives, Oregon Vital
Records/Death Index, Genealogical Forum.
Are you able to find anything? Thank you in advance for your help.
