Just talked to my sister who used to live in Bandon.  Waldrop is a well-known family name there.  While she did not know Kelly Waldrop, she suggested that you contact Charles Waldrop Real Estate Office (780 2nd Street Southeast, Bandon - (541) 347-9455) where someone should certainly be able to point you in the right direction.

Another thing to do if you don’t get a response is to donate the bible to the New England Historical and Genealogical Society.  They are digitizing all bibles they receive or if not that a local genealogical society might want it.

Kelly Waldrop, Bandon Oregon.  I am looking for her as she is a descendant of Margaret Elizabeth Melton who married ????.  Margaret Elizabeth Melton was daughter of Johnnie Melton and Ida Mae Phillips.  Ida Mae Phillips was daughter of Charlie Phillips and Margaret May Lafferty.

I have tried to get a phone number and have hit dead ends there.  So if any one knows her please pass on a message. 

Margaret May Lafferty was my father's younger sister.  My dad was really old when I was born. I did meet my aunt May several times and she came to our home in San Diego, CA to visit my dad.  It was the last time I saw her.  She brought dad the old Lafferty family Bible and a small study Bible that had the information of Ida Mae Melton's marriage in it.  

The Lafferty Bible is already spoken for but this little Phillips/ Melton Bible I would like to give to a family member as I am getting old and my children already plan to burn anything thing they can not figure out what it is.  That bible will be one of the things that will go in the fire.
