[or-roots] Jump off Joe -- Merlin???

I have a mystery branch that was in Jump Off Joe in the 1890 Military Census.  This man was a school teacher in 1880 (listed on the same page with my great-great-grandfather, W.W. Gage - the cousin of the wife in the family below.)    I haven't been able to find Albert & Sarah after 1900 in Merlin.  They just disappear.  Their son remained in Oregon.     Denise
