[or-roots] Wheatland Ferry

I have to admit I'm confused between Marhsa's ferry I think she is talking about 'Leabo' & Walt's is 'Matheny'? so why are they saying each one had the first? It's a really rainy day outside so I'm on my computer getting involved probably where I shouldn't on this one, lol..

    From what I'm reading at  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historic_ferries_in_Oregon 

    Jesse Applegate was the 1st operator of the Wheatland Ferry then Walt writes: Daniel Matheny V it is named after my gt.gt.gt. grandfather who was one of the first owners of the Ferry. He says one of the first OWNERS, not the first... I am enthused to read everything like Dan M. is : ) 

    *I read Leabo & Matheny ferries are 2 different ferries.. Am I wrong?
