Fred;
I would be willing to take a crack at your problem, but would need some
names. I am not finding any civil war history or regimental histories from
Morgan County. So far in fact have found no military history for Ohio, but
am sure there are some. If the daughters don't show up in the census by
married name it is real hard to get anywhere with them unless you can track
down an obit for the father or mother.
If in fact it is a whole family of war widows that might have made enough of
an impression to make a local history book, but so far haven't seen one from
that county.

I am wondering if there were kept any lists of Civil War Casualties?
Either at the national level, or even the unit level. Mainly I am looking
for anyone who may have served from the SE Ohio [Muskingham] area. Morgan
County.
I don't know exactly who I am looking for. That makes it a little harder!
I have a head of household [who was too old for the CW] owning and living
on a homestead just north of McConnellsville who died in 1867. His will
lists WAY TO MANY CHILDREN. He mentions each person by name, but only
calls a few of the grand children. His marriage aged daughters are ALL
living at home. My thought is, maybe they are all home because their
husbands didn't come home from the CW. They all would have been of an age
for that war.
Thanks,
Fred
