OR-Rooters,

I spoke with staff at the Vital Records Office in Portland a few months ago regarding the early birth records.  There are a number of issues they gave which preclude them from sending these records to the Archives. So for the time being the only birth records that are available from the State Archives are the delayed birth records and the early City of Portland birth records.  All of these records are available on the index at :

http://genealogy.state.or.us/

If and when the records are released to us, we will announce they are available.

Has anyone heard when the Health Department is going to release birth certificates to the archives??
