Oregon Technical Institute, later OIT, first opened near Klamath Falls 
in an unused WW II Marine barracks in the 1950's -- it received state 
education board approval to offer two year associate degrees in 1957.

Would appear to be no connection to your 1935 school. OIT now has two 
Portland area satellite campuses.
