[or-roots] Wheatland Ferry & Catholic Record searches

I rode the Wheatland Ferry this evening on my return from visiting the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Gervais and the St. Louis Cemetery in St. Louis.

Has anyone done research amongst the Catholic Records of Sacred Heart or St. Louis? My ancestors emigrated from Pankota, Hungary (Germans) and I located a goodly group of them in the two cemeteries today. I took 68 photos and once I process the clues from the tombstones I'm wondering what resource next might provide some clues. Some of these German relatives seem to have avoided the census takers so I need to find some other records.

The most mysterious of the bunch are the Plennert/Plennart relatives. Anton Plennart (4 Jul 1876-27 Jan 1953), Jacob I Plennart (1902-1975), Ada Plenert (1852-1930) & Frances Plenert (1860-1915). Even tho the spellings are different I strongly suspect they are relatives to my direct ancestor, Eva Plennert.

Would especially enjoy sharing info with ANYONE researching ANY relatives from the Banat region (Arad County, Hungary) where Pankota & Ujpanat are cities my ancestors emigrated from. Quite a group of emigrants came to Oregon about 1902-1910. Many of them are inter-related.

its called the Wheatland ferry but the ferry itself is named the Daniel Matheny V after grampa.

I've ridden the ferry and it was always Wheatland Ferry.

The only times the ferry was not operational was the excess rains
swollen the river beyond the banks.
