This is an interesting story about some work they are doing in the Myrtle
Creek Pioneer Cemetery.

This covers a current study and goes back somewhat on their restoration
project. They had been working awhile on the restoration project and then
vandals came into the cemetery and overturned lots of headstones. So it was
worse than just starting over, they had to fix all those headstones.

Now they are searching for unmarked graves.

A group of us here in the Paisley area are working together to raise funds
for materials to make a headstone for the about 100 unmarked graves in the
Paisley Historic Cemetery.

The 27th of June the local trap shoot group is having a prize shoot and the
proceeds will go to the cemetry fund for this purpose.

Our second BIG project is a memorial wall. That one is down the pike, so to
speak, and will take a lot more funds, engineering and suggestions.

If you have a loved one in the cemetery and would like to donate for this
project, please send your donation to Lake Cemetery District, % Paisley
Cemetery, 928 Millview Street, Lakeview, Oregon.

This is a county funded cemetery, but for maintainence only. The extras and
nice things for this burial ground are from the people.

If anyone has ideas on a memorial wall, we are open to all suggestions. We
want to keep with the western-high desert theme. And any sure fire ideas to
earn $$$$$ is fine also!

Thanks a lot, Diane
