Daniel Jackson Cooper born August 23, 1836, in Bradley County, Tennessee,
lived with his parents until he was of age. Went to California in 1857,
across the plains as a cattle driver, to the FFrazer River gold mines in
1859. returning to Missouri by the way of California and the Isthmus in
'61. He enlisted in Co. C. 14th S. M Cav. Vol. Ap0ril 3 62 but he was left
off the roll in the reorganization of that company for the reason that he
was in hospital ill with typhoid fever. The original roll having been lost
at battle of Neosho. He re=enlisted in the 76th Regiment E.M., where he
started to Oregon April 7,1863.
He was married May 9. 1861, to Arvazena Angeline Spillman, born April
13, 1845. To them were born fifteen Children

He died Oct 31 93
