This is just a guess, but perhaps the person's body was donated to the
medical school. Somehow "Removed" might fit that situation, but who knows.

I have a question and wondered if anyone has a possible explanation. I
recently got a 1960 death certificate. In block 30A. Deceased will be
Buried, cremated, removed or other and the OTHER box is checked. I've tried
to think of what other possibility that might be -- any ideas.

Ronda,
They are available for all counties from 1903-1960. The certificates for
1961 will be available on January 3rd.
