I just put the cursor in the box and hit delete.   I can't say why it
doesn't work.  Are you sure you are putting it in the "county code" box and
not one of the others?

Well, how do you erase anything in the box, I used delete and also backspace
but no luck.

Try this

http://www.dhs.state.or.us/dhs/doweb/ccnames/ccnames.cfml

Then, to get the whole list, click in the box that says "Enter county code"
and erase anything in the box, so it is blank. Then, click on "look up
codes." This gets you the entire list.

Otherwise, if you already have a code, put that code in the box.

died in Coconino County, Arizona, in 1960. The county listed on the Death
Index is "2", which is Benton County.

The reason for the DC in Oregon, I would guess, had to do with the probate.
How they got Benton out of that, however, I don't know. There does not
appear to be an "out of state" code, but why pick Benton instead of Jackson
(15), where the "home place" was?

I have managed to lose my link to the State Archives for looking up birth,
death, marriage, etc. records.  Can anyone help me out with this.  I am
trying to find the actual death date of an Elizabeth Haworth Dillon who was
buried in the Friends Cemetery in Yamhill County Oregon.  The findagrave
just gives 1940 and I would like to have the actual death date.
