Hi Viola Rae,

You may want to look at  <http://www.raogk.org> www.raogk.org  They have
three people in Malheur County.  They have volunteered the following:

Gravestone pictures. Vale, Ontario and Nyssa. 

Still photos of tombstones and Public Records lookups and copying. 

Gravestone pictures. I will travel to Ontario and Vale and the surrounding
area within 20 miles.

Thank you Layne.  I am arriving on the 28th and hope to be there on Fri the
29th.  If all goes well and Murphy doesn't join me, I will plan the rest of
my trip around what I find.

 

Today I am calling Vale to see what they have. I don't want to make that
drive but . . . Otherwise I will be going down to Red Bluff, Ca on Monday
the 2nd of  Sept.

 

Thank everyone that has helped me get "stuff" together so my searches have
half a chance of being successful.

OR-Rooters,

 

Given that ViolaRae has recently posted that she may be visiting the
Archives in the near future I wanted to alert her and the list about this
upcoming event.  The State Archives will be closed the morning of July 27th
for an all staff meeting of the Secretary of State's office.  We always post
messages on our home page and in the building about a week in advance of any
scheduled disruption in our normal service hours.  However, researchers do
not always see these messages as they don't necessarily go to the home page
but go directly to other pages in our web site.  We will be open at 1:00 on
July 27th.
