Back in the late 1970's early 1980's there was a publication about early northwest photographers.  Of course I cannot recall the title.  But it was a 'biographical dictionary" with entries for each individual describing their career etc.  Perhaps a google search or a search of some of the online library catalogs in the northwest would turn up at hit.  A former colleague, Elizabeth Winroth, at the Oregon Historical Society was involved in the publication but my quick search on google using her name did not result in a hit.
