What a great tribute.  I never met her but from the sounds of the things 
she volunteered for I have benefitted from her work.  Thanks for posting 
this.

This 1940 census has been my first experience with indexing.  It has 
been interesting.  Remembering over the years of going through microfilm 
to search for things it makes me appreciate the clearer images on the 
1940 census.  You still have to contend with the handwriting issue.
