Well we know Laurel hill dont have his records.
We know who created the stone and why that one was used by the post with the link to Nara. I have a order for his civil records and there might be parents listed, they were no on his draft card. This is a badly damaged brick wall today and I dont think its going to be so resistant now.  I have his kids they listed but there is a misspelling on one and I dont know whose error. Shiels or Skeels ?

  Dan, now that you have that, what details are in the obit--where did he die?  If there is a funeral home listed there might be records somewhere--or even cemetery records might show that.  It's possible a DC doesn't exist--I have several deaths in my family before 1910 that have no DC's.  My gr grandfather, who dies in Albany in 1916, doesn't show up on the Oregon Death Index, but his DC is there.  I'm willing to look and see if this is the case, but don't bet the farm that it will be on file at the Archives.  Linda

    No Glen, no society in Paisley...and rather doubt that La Pine has one, but I think Deschutes County has a genealogical society and I know they have a Historical Society.   Diane.

      Ya! Dan I do not remember if there is a genealogy society in La Pine or Paisley,
      Diana Elder in Paisley is on the Board of the Oregon Historic Cemeteries Commission
      and a distant relative and my brother-in-law lives in Crescent, so i am over that way
      at times, but it is a long way from everything.

        Just a tip when searching the Oregon Historical Records do the first search on just the surname
        a lot of times if you put in the full name it will tell you record not found, but if you use just the surname
        it will come up with a record, I have also found this to be true on other sites as well.
