[or-roots] 1940 census

Try the usual misspellings - I know I've searched for my father in Colorado
where he is supposed to be and got nothing - I'm thinking he came to
California earlier than I was told.

 

One of my family names instead of an 'S" - it is often indexed with an "L"
or "F" and over the years I've gotten used to looking multiple ways.

I actually found my husband's family in the census image in Coos County.  I
go to Family Search and search for them in the 1940 census and it says "no
record".

In the upper right corner is a 1940 logo'ish thing with writing underneath.


Clicking on the logo will bring up a map, click on the red, white and blue
map.

It will divide into state.

Click on Oregon and you should be good to go.

Looks like 1940 for Oregon is now fully searchable.  It is amazing what can
be accomplished by the efforts of volunteers!
