  So you are saying that these folks are not local members of your long established Elder family, right?  Correct.  Maybe they were visiting from someplace else?  We were very active in the community in 1976.  Our kids were in school, I was working at the Post Office.  

  Did they die at the same time?  Only death date is 1976 for Frank Elder

  Maybe their family has no idea where they are, like you have no idea who they are?  Have you checked with  law enforcement for missing persons files from 1976?  Nope.  Who and how were they identified?   
  Don't  have a clue.  Franks name is on a cemetery map I copied years ago and that same information is on a card the official cemetery district secretary has in her files.  She gave me a photocopy of that card.  

  My favorite story would be that they were killed in a high speed car crash, having stolen a car and identification from the "real Mr & Mrs Frank Elder" who lived Someplace Else ...   Great story!!!!!!!!!!!!!
