Our great List Mom already answered the question about the DC, but if you
happen to find that he is the son of James Clay Russell (which is a
possibility), I'd like to talk with you. I'm the "genealogist" for the Clay
Family Society, and we have members from the same line (not James Clay, but
his grandfather). I copied out some records a while ago, but my computer
chose to reboot (updates!) during that and I lost them. IF you don't have
the censuses from California and Oregon on Zach, let me know.

I have found a record for a death at the at genealogy.state.or.us site. 
Can I then get a copy of the death certificate? The death is in 1912. Do I
have to mail for a death cert, or are there old ones online. The record on
line doesn't have parents name, which is mainly what I am interested in. It
shows the following, which I don't know what it means:

Name: Russell, Zachary S
Date: 10/27/1912
Record Type: Portland Deaths
County: no county
Source: City of Portland
Identifier: Vol 9

I don't know what it means by no county, Source: city of Portland, and Vol
9. I hate to waste time sending for it if that's not where I need to look or
if this is all the info that is available.
