For the upcoming edition of the Oregon Blue Book color section, we are looking for images related to Oregon's rural public schools prior to World War II. We're particularly interested in colorful images of samples of students' schoolwork, photos depicting students working and playing, and visually interesting images of memorabilia related to school sporting events, school dances, club events and similar activities. Full credit will be provided for any images used in the Oregon Blue Book. Many images not used in the print version will be used in the expanded Web version.
Since 1999, each print edition of the Oregon Blue Book has featured a different themed color section covering a uniquely Oregon topic, with images provided by many of the state's heritage organizations. The topic for the 2015-16 Oregon Blue Book is "Celebrating Our Educational Heritage - Oregon's Historic Rural Public Schools."
Past topics for the Blue Book color section have included Oregon's public beaches from the 1913 Open Beaches act to the Beach Bill of 1967, Women's Suffrage in Oregon, Oregon's Century Farms, and the 1905 Lewis and Clark Exposition. For reference, the Web version of these can be viewed here:
