  I think, he tied on a few beers and went out to give the Modocs a bad time and they stuffed him in a crevice some place, the Modocs were not to happy with the Matney people since Sam Matney scalped Smoke Creek Sam on the day Capt Canby was killed.

Julia was upset to the drinking and being called a ( stumpet )
No one found Walters resting place,nor Julia's.

      I have those books too. I been collecting books many years.
