[or-roots] Emigrants from the Banat (Hungary at the time, now Romania)

Tomorrow there is a Conference in Salem, Oregon, for those interested in researching ancestral roots in the ‘Banat’.

 

I will be speaking in the afternoon on using Autosomal DNA as one of the tools in genealogy.

My Pfau/Schmidt ancestors emigrated in 1904 and settled in Marion County.  Many of the emigrants from the Banat region settled in Marion County (Gervais, North Howell, and Mount Angel).  http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~romban/map/xymap.html is a link to a helpful map.
