Les,
My research has shown that the Forks of the Willamette is generally considered to be formed by the confluence of the Middle Fork Willamette River and the Coast Fork Willamette River near Springfield.
However, the following website: http://oregon.hometownlocator.com/maps/feature-map,ftc,3,fid,1166178,n,willamette%20forks%20post%20office.cfm  lists the historical location of the  Willamette Forks PO by longitude (123.0581421) and latitude (44.1123468) . 
Using Google Maps with these coordinates, puts the  PO at a point about half way between Camp Harlow and Armitage Park along the McKenzie. 
I hope this helps in some way.

Been hammering at the distant relatives in the Wisner family again and discovered another one who was in Oregon, but only for a while,


Right in Lane County no less.  Not sure where though; Post office seems to be Forks Willamette, location is Willamette Township which since every Township in the state is a township on the Willamette meridian is not too specific.


I can't find the USGS search site I used to use to locate place names; like everybody else they had to "improve" their web site so now it's useless.
