Please download and read, “The Jackson County Genealogy Library: Over a
Half-Century of Helping People Find Their Roots,” by Cara Davis-Jacobson
and Anne Billeter of the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society, here:
https://commons.pacificu.edu/olaq/vol24/iss1/8/

>From Cara and Anne’s article, “In September of 2016, RVGS celebrated its
semicentennial—50 expansive years of preserving the past so that others
might benefit from the accumulated knowledge of so many who paved the way
to create the society and library as they are today. RVGS and JCGL are gems
that, these days, serve not only Southern Oregon but also researchers from
all over the world. In fact, JCGL now houses the largest genealogical
collection between Portland, Oregon, and Sacramento, California!”

Genealogy is a subject that many library patrons ask about. It is
wonderful to have an organization to refer people to when they have
exhausted the resources of their local public library. RVGS and JCGL offer
expertise to members and the public through classes, tutorials, seminars,
historical materials and individual assistance. Please read on to learn
more about this Southern Oregon institution that is supported by 829
members and 89 volunteers!

Thank you,

Charles Wood
