I found some relatives there who originally lived in Linn Co. About ten years ago I photocopied some of the 1895 Linn County census pages I attach a copy of two pages to show the information they contained. Unless there is another 1895 Linn County census I did not find when I went, it unfortunately does not have the personal data the Marion County 1895 census has. I'm wondering if each county decided what information they wanted. Does anyone have a copy of pages from the 1895 Multnomah County or Morrow County censuses?Terri> On 06/27/2020 2:43 PM or-roots-request at omls.oregon.gov wrote:> >  > Send or-roots mailing list submissions to> or-roots at omls.oregon.gov> > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit> http://omls.oregon.gov/mailman/listinfo/or-roots> or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to> or-roots-request at omls.oregon.gov> > You can reach the person managing the list at> or-roots-owner at omls.oregon.gov> > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific> than "Re: Contents of or-roots digest..."> Today's Topics:> >    1. 1895 Census (Kith-n-Kin)> _______________________________________________> or-roots mailing list> or-roots at omls.oregon.gov> http://omls.oregon.gov/mailman/listinfo/or-roots> All,> > I recently was delighted to find a unique census for Marion County, on Ancestry.com, dated 1895.> > > > https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/2467/> > > > This is an abstract, in two volumes, of the state census, created by the Willamette Valley Genealogical Society, abstracted by Jean Custer, Ann Hochspeier, Vergene Lowter, Connie Henderson, Betty Perry, produced by Helen Blair, Sherrill A Hochspeier, (Vol I, Vol. 1 Salem and Oregon State Penitentiary) and Jean Custer, Ann Hochspeier, Sherrill A Hochspeier, produced by Sherrill A Hochspeier (Vol II. other towns in Marion County.)> > > > As seen in the sample below, there is significant information that does not appear in any federal census.
