The Murphy line:
1. 1900 census – Thomas Murphy (head) and Mary (mother), Nancy (daughter),
Emel (son), Caroline (daughter), Clara (daughter), Thurman (son) and George
(son). Township 2, Fresno County, California, ED 2, page 242A. Nancy,
Emel, Caroline, Clara and Thurman have an O for marital status. Not sure
what that means – other, orphan?
2. 1910 census – Thurman Murphy, boarder, 21 years old, born in California,
father born in United States, mother born in California, a chute tender at a
logging camp. Seven Forest, Maricopa County, California, ED 92, page 122.
3. 1930 census – Thurman Murphy, head, widowed, 48 years old, mixed blood,
a woodsman in the forest industry, veteran of WWI. Thurman (son) and Venus
(daughter) live with him. Township 4, Madera County, California, ED 11,
page 282A. You had this, I think.
4. Thurman H. Murphy, SSN 556-09-8832, born 20 December 1889 in California,
died 23 January 1969 in Sacramento County, California (from the California
Death Index, 1940-1997). The SSDI lists his last residence in San Andreas,
Calaveras County, California which does not mean he died there.
